Full-funnel topical clusters for Salesforce product lines
A journey-led content system took monthly organic clicks from about 6K to 9.3K in six months, by answering the product questions buyers ask long before they shortlist a partner.
Buyers start with questions about the Salesforce product, not the partner — and by shortlist time, whoever answered first has their attention.
Built one topical cluster per product line, each asset mapped to a buyer stage, with internal links moving readers from learn to evaluate to decide.
Monthly organic clicks up 55% in six months, from ~6K to 9.3K, and quarterly impressions up to 2.44M.
Buyers start with the product, not the partner
The client sells Salesforce products and also implements them. Its buyers rarely begin by searching for an implementation partner. They begin with questions about the product itself: what it does, which edition suits them, how it connects to the rest of their stack.
By the time a decision-maker shortlists partners, the brands that answered those early questions already have their attention. We needed to be present across that whole path for each product line, not only on the final partner-selection search.
One cluster per product, mapped to buyer intent
From the start the work was organised as one topical cluster per product, with a clear journey inside each cluster. Every asset type was assigned to one stage of buyer intent, and internal links moved readers from one stage to the next.
Because the client was also a Salesforce reseller, starting at informational queries made commercial sense: a reader comparing Marketing Cloud editions is a potential buyer of both the licence and the implementation.
Four stages, four asset types
Informational blogs — what the product does, which edition fits, how it integrates. Captures early research demand and builds topical authority.
Product and situational case studies — implementation depth by industry and integration scenario.
Customer success stories — the proof a decision-maker needs to pick the implementation partner.
Webinars — video touchpoints for buyers who would rather watch than read.
The Marketing Cloud cluster, then the rest
Marketing Cloud was the first cluster built on the model. Learn-stage pieces covered the implementation guide, WhatsApp integration, data models, features and the editions-and-pricing comparison. Evaluate-stage pieces covered Advertising Studio for real estate and education, Marketing Cloud with Sales Cloud, hospitality setups, and integrations with Amazon S3 and Commerce Cloud.
Decide-stage stories covered Marketing Cloud for an educational organisation, an eCommerce platform on Sales Cloud and Pardot, and integrated-cloud growth stories. A webinar on marketing automation closed the loop for buyers who prefer video.
Once the journey worked for Marketing Cloud, the same structure of stages, touchpoints and internal links was rolled out across the other targeted product lines, including Loyalty Cloud and Sales Cloud.

55% more clicks, and a wider query footprint
Within six months organic search traffic grew by 55%, from roughly 6K to 9.3K monthly clicks. Quarter on quarter, clicks rose from 21.2K to 25.4K and impressions from 1.97M to 2.44M, with average position improving from 38.1 to 37.5.
Average CTR eased slightly, from 1.1% to 1.0%, because impressions grew faster than clicks. That is expected when a site starts appearing for a wider set of early-stage informational queries, where searchers click less often.
Why it worked
Buyer-led
The content followed how Salesforce buyers actually research: product first, partner last.
One job per asset
Each asset type had one job in the journey, which kept clusters organised and internal linking obvious.
Proof in the path
Case studies gave informational readers a direct route to proof, turning research traffic into partner consideration.
Video included
Webinars reached buyers that written content alone would have missed.
Repeatable
The model rolled out across product lines once it worked for the first one.
Compounding
Clusters kept earning after publication instead of spiking and fading.
